Python for the PSP

I stumbled across this: http://python-psp.net/trac/

I am really surprised that I missed this considering that python is much more powerful as a standalone programming/scripting language then Lua.

Re: Python for the PSP

I didn't say it was better, just more powerful. It supports OO programming for a start which is always a big plus. It is also more established as a language then Lua, there are more libraries, tutorials and documents available. It also has a lot more bindings/extensions such as Pygame (2d SDL) and PyOgre (3d API) for the PC platform.

It is also said that it enforces good programming habits early on, something I have yet to test. I be learning it myself soon just to see if this is true. I already know Lua and C++ so this should be an interesting experience. My only concern is that after trying Python, I leave C++ behind since it has been said it is a great languuage to work in...

Re: Python for the PSP

looks like a nice language but i allready know a lot about lua, I know the lua language better, I prefer lua to any other language, python looks harder and I can,t be bothered to learn another language Cool

Re: Python for the PSP

How can you say you like Lua better then any other language when you haven't tried them yet?

Re: Python for the PSP

Wouldn't it be easier to learn a new language once you already know one?
As well as adding to your overall understanding of programming and logic?

Re: Python for the PSP

learning or trying to learn a harder language does help you understand simpler languages, i found out when i tryed to learn c++

Re: Python for the PSP

wow way to bring up the old news Tongue this as been around forever. Now people listen to me when I say this, stick to lua. Python was my bery first programming language, its where I leanred how to program on the computer so you would think that I would have a love for python on the psp, well I don't and the only reason why is becuase python is MUCH less supported then lua. Just look the latest release just started to include wifi support. The guy thats porting the language isn't as dedicated as shine is to lua. Now if Python had as many features as lua I wouldn't  stay with lua for 1 more sceond because of how much better python is (face it python is just a better scripting language)
