Python rocks...

... the big one. Seriously, I have literally only started using it fully at work for prototyping and after I got past the hump of syntax, it is so much more productive (the ~50% less typing certainly helps) compared to C/C++. No need to worry about memory and best of all, no compiling times.

There are a few things I am worried about such as copying objects, which will crop up soon.

Edit: Scratch that, this solves everything nicely Smile

And before you ask, yes, it is miles better then Lua as a sole language.

Re: Python rocks...

It seems that's one of the main uses for scripting languages, for prototyping.  I actually tried to get into Python a couple years ago (with DiveIntoPython and various online tutorials) but lost interest because I wanted to do too much, too fast.  I remember messing around with Soya3D, and being overwhelmed with the complexity of the source code of Balazar.  That was when it was still in it's infancy, too.  I've completely forgotten everything I learned by now of course.

So, you going to do a little Python on the PSP now?  Cool

Re: Python rocks...

Isn't the syntax kind of odd? I never could get past the syntax of defining a class, and the ":" for blocks of code... I guess I never really gave it a chance though Tongue

Probably not, I don't have enough control over the hardware so I still be sticking with C++. But developing on the PC or prototyping ideas, I be sticking with Python.

Re: Python rocks...

yes there is a pygame like system for psp, dont know much of anything about it, I hate python

more focused: I hate that every time I try to learn something about it, I cant just copy n paste a damn example script cause then the whitespace gets all messed up and I end up spending HOURS fixing the stupid code, tracing down invisible brackets, get mad and walk off

+ it makes me conform to "their correct way"
